I am feeling a bit distressed, rejected etc. I got in to work today to find my replacement logged on at my desk! Actually not a bad idea but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I know that feeling. When my co reference person and I had overlapping times I felt like that when she logged on first, and it is her desk the other half of the week! It is better now that we don't overlap. But it still feels odd having to tidy up my desk for someone else each week.

It's some kind of unspoken work etiquette thing, isn't it? It's not your desk until the previous occupant has actually left?

Oh dear. At least having been given advance notice might have eased the shock a little. I am quite sure you handled the situation with your usual aplomb.
