Useful day. Did nothing but what was planned.:
-called Mother (of course)
-laundry, dishes. how exciting
-
mr_bassman came over and took away the useful wood from the rubble pile. Very glad to give it to him for re-use rather than throwing it away.
The remaining pile is noticeably smaller but will still a job of work to shift.
-got my other 2 pairs of work trousers to hand hemming stage. I WILL finish these eventually, really.
-repotted 3 fuchia plants. The mints will have to wait.
-went to 4hrs of Irish dancing. We are a long way from a polished demo set, sigh.
The notable planned thing that didn't happen was grocery shopping. I should manage another day or so without, though I ate takeaway tonight instead of real food. Not good.
My neck is still sore. I had sort of hoped that another session of Irish would be the cure as it might have been the cause. Wishful thinking I now think. Sometime this week I will try to organise a proper massage and see if that helps- sort of exciting- I have never had a professional massage. Not sure if something needs crunching though.
Tomorrow I am supposed to go spend the day planting trees. My workplace gives us 2 days each year to do officially sanctioned volunteer work. I have never used any of these days, have always said I can't afford the time away from work. Well I can't afford to be out of the office tomorrow either but I really would rather go planting trees. I'm allowed so I shall! I MUST get up on time, remember to wear gardening clothes, actually make lunch (or I go hungry) and get off at a different train stop. Work will just have to wait until Tues.
Saturday
a bunch of us got together, hung out, sewed stuff and then communally made a 3 course dinner involving at least two lots of home grown produce. Pastry and stock were all home made too. We had pumpkin soup, then roast goat and veg, followed up by marvellous pumpkin pie and icecream. What a pleasant way to spend a day. I started to try to list who did what for dinner but it got far too complicated. Twas fun anyway.
I still only managed about half of what I wanted to do on the weekend though. Isn't that usually the case? In theory I have 2 more hours to do stuff in. I think said stuff will be mostly taken up by reading on the sofa though.
