This post will likely be dull. Don't expect anything very interesting. I just feel inclined to put some thoughts down.

I almost always spend the first half of Saturday feeling heavy headed, blah, mentally beaten up by the working week, pummelled about in the brain. Today is no exception. I was pleased though to wake to the sound of rain. That does prevent me from doing the gardening that I was planning this morning.  Not the end of the world but pottering in the garden is one of the most restful and restorative things.

I have also decided that I should not work on the sewing project I wanted to finish today until I have been to spotlight and bought the missing bit, in case that changes design decisions. So I can't work on that either.

Think I will sew some quilt binding and maybe start on the Christmas tree. I could tidy up <grimace>, maybe later.

The big question is: when is the best time of day to visit Spotlight then Aldi? I usually avoid supermarkets on Sat until about 3pm but I am going to the opera tonight and that timing is too late. If I go to Spotlight when it opens, then Aldi, I would be in the nasty Sat crush.  Decisions, decisions. I have also never been to Aldi before. What ever, I will go or not as I am inclined a bit later. Hmm, I could go to Aldi and then spotlight given it is not so baking hot today and I don't want much in Spotlight. That sounds like an idea.

Wishing I was as eloquent and amusing as some of my friends. I often read posts and emails, thoroughly appreciate them but feel blank about replying or joining in. My composition skill with words has never been very good. I shall hold on to the thought that my composition skill with physical things is somewhat better.

(after running to the front door and back)
Oh. I thought I was over the burglary. Seems I am not just yet. I have the front door open, screen locked, just heard a strange noise out front which made my heart leap and small panic attack ensued. Suddenly I could cry. Damn silly behaviour.

Ah well. I will try for resorative activies today, which should include some tidying 'cause the results would make me feel better. Then I go to see Handel's "Alcina" tonight. I do love Handel opera. I don't know anything about this one but it will surely be several hours of glorious music. I will miss Graham Pushee though. He has starred in the other Handel operas that I have seen.

It was 'wear a frock - no pants allowed'. One guy turned up in a dinner jacket and his undies, and was made to put boxers on. Others turned up in their spouse's clothing, togas, caftans, tutus, kilts, grass skirts - you name it! I just did viking because there was no effort required - I had it all ready to go. I'd been told to go as Xena but I'm not really built for it!!

Yes I would have spun out to find someone here. In our case they took everything worth anything, and left the rest. But it brought back some far worse memories from my childhood in Perth, about being home when several attempts were made - so that's why I live in a fortress! One day I'll move and feel a whole lot differently.
