I am on HOLIDAY!!
Started by going to R25. much fun was had. Fab to see everyone. Frocks still fit so I am not any fatter. Gods and Monsters tourney was fantastic. I actually watched much of it- those who know me will realise this constitutes a minor miracle. Then there was feast prep, I wandered about helping a little bit with lots of things, managing to greet and chat with the many friends also helping. Feast itself was yummy, pretty and well paced. I even danced a bit, first Newcastle and Merry Milkmaids in years, good fun. The puppet play was good but I could not see many of the pictures, sillouettes worked better in that light. I loved Sun on a Stick, history of festival, very funny. Mr Unruly played God, kept waving a lightning bolt, he at least has enough voice for it. Then there was the clean up. Wonder of wonders, I stayed to the end. Well, I didn't have a lift otherwise but hey, it was sort of fun. Satisfying at least.
Then not enough sleep-the case for the last week really. I kept my appointment with the harbour and opera house etc, reached via my favourite (Sydney only) boutique- Von Troska. Yes I shelled out for a garment, how could I not. lovely shiny red jacket.
Next stop was a pub to meet with a goodly number of Sydney friends to celebrate my birthday. Low key but nice, I even got given my AoA scroll -awarded 16yrs ago- which I then forgot to pack. Mouse, if you read this, would you bring it with you please??
Monday I hung out with Mousie and Wee Jasper in the morning, Miss T, and her two boys in the afternoon. One is nearly two, I got to play "soccer" with him, very fun. The little one is only 6wks old so I had a nice long ovary pinging hold of him. Then a long walk from Dulwich Hill via lots of beautiful houses and stunning magnolia trees through Summer Hill to buy some wine and then back to Miss L and a great home cooked dinner. back to the airport where I slept until boarding, then right through the flight.
Yesterday was my birthday. I have made enough noise about the number that I didn't really think of it yesterday. Good result. I was a zombie alll morning having got in from Syd at 1am. Then to Latrobe for lunch with
doushkasmum and Lady J. Then cake and coffee high in a sunny garden centre. Nice.
Today I have been prepping to do garden work and some reno. I plan to repot some stuff including my sad looking lemon tree. Also scrub and paint the front wall. Better watch it, I dig away the soil at the base of the wall and scraped the worst of the loose paint today, my right arm is now rather tired. Oh, and I am now the proud owner of a wheelbarrow!
So I have made a start on the massive To Do list. Well I always have one of them. Nice to make some progress though.
