Yesterday I was grumpy, really. Not when I woke up but by the time I managed to get on a train for work the following had happened:
1. I wanted to put just one can of water on my violets to help them survive the forecast second day of 40C temps. While trying to get the watering can through the front door (should not be hard you think?) I managed to splash water all down my front. This meant I had to change my skirt. Did not take long but it meant that I was about a minute late leaving the house.
2. As I reached my front gate I found that one of the support posts was suddenly seriously wobbly
3. I just missed my train (see one above). The next train was cancelled. As a result the following one was too full to get on. So after 30 min or so, I finally got on the 4th train.
4. while waiting for the train it was hot and very windy. I was being a good girl and wearing my new hat. Well I was for a few minutes on the platform when it lifted off my head and landed in the train tracks. I then had to spend the following half hour looking at it and sort of grieving. Do you think any of the other people on the platform reacted at all to this little tragedy? Of course not.
Then when I actually got to work....well, enough whinging. Suffice to say it was not a good day and finished very stressed and put-apon.
I am well, the cool change came in. I sit in my nice house typing this. Blissfully cool.
Some excitement awaits and hopefully a much better day. I came home last night to one of those exciting yellow cards from the post office. This means two things
1. that the delivery people did not just leave a parcel that needs to be signed for on the mat
2. that I will hopefully be the proud owner of a new camera after my trip to said post office this morning! This is to replace the one the burglar took.
So I should be able to post pics again soon! Yay. I find it amazing how much I have missed my camera. So many things to take pics of. Much for my own interest and record keeping. I am a big fan of before/progress/after shots. I want one of the snowball tree next door. It nearly died, due to the hot temps I presume. Now it has beautiful new green growth to contrast with the brown, crispy canopy.
